Fun Silk Painting Parties for Children

Experience the wonderful world of silk painting in this fun introductory workshop.

2 hours.
6 children (you and your 5 favourite friends!) Includes 3 pre-printed silk cards and envelopes per person.
 
Cost: £100 plus mileage from Woking at 45p/mile.
£10 per additional child, max 10 total.
 
A parent/guardian must be present for the whole party.
 
Pets must be securely in another room for the duration of the party.

Minimum age of all guests 8yrs. Older siblings and adults are welcome to join the party!

I bring a range of pre-printed silk pictures on a backing paper and, after a short tutorial, we paint them with special silk paints and then dry them with a hairdryer, cut them out and mount them on greeting cards.

This is a fantastic introduction to the wonderful world of silk painting. Students love the bright colours, and the ability to merge and blend the paints directly on the silk. You will have never heard them so quiet!

We will have a short drink break in the middle of the session, but I request that snacks wait until after the workshop to avoid sticky fingers on the silk.

All students will need to bring an apron, tie their hair back and wear sleeves which can be rolled up.

Sharp scissors will be used during this party.

I have an Enhanced DBS Certificate.

Relaxing Parties for Adults and Family Groups

Draw your own designs on silk in this relaxing workshop for beginners.

£150, 3hrs, plus mileage from Woking.
Includes 6 students.
Additional students £20 per person, maximum 10.

This workshop is also available for Guilds and Associations, WI Groups and local businesses.

For those who have never painted on silk before, or who want a lovely relaxing few hours with their friends.

Half day course, 3 hours.
Minimum age 10yrs.

Start from the beginning and learn how to stretch your silk on the frame. Trace your design on to the silk and then use the traditional "gutta resist" technique to outline your picture.

Once this has dried, you can have loads of fun painting with fabulous vibrant colours and trying a range of texture effects. You will create a small sample piece (perfect for card making!) and a completed A4 size picture.

We will be using iron fixed outliner and silk paints. All equipment and full instructions are provided.

Techniques covered: Gutta resist, Merging / shading / blending / colour mixing, Salt effects.

Lots of inspiration in a friendly and supportive environment.

Note: We will need to use a hairdryer, and possibly your oven, for this workshop.
