I have been having fun this week with a couple of new silk painted pieces, so I thought I'd share some progress pictures with you. These are 18" squares, which may turn into pictures or cushion covers at a later date depending on how they turn out. I really enjoy creating these pieces, and often use them as trials for larger items such as scarves.

Once you have drawn your outlines and let them dry, it can be quite relaxing painting them. It makes a nice change from those adult colouring books which are in fashion at the moment, and you get a fantastic textile piece for your efforts rather than a bit of paper!

If working with outliner isn't your thing, you can also buy all sorts of cards / scarves / cushion covers etc. with pre-printed designs on them - check out Silkcraft and Rainbow Silks who have quite a wide range.
